1805/4 O.102 T-5 Draped Bust Half Dollar PCGS VF35 CAC
CAC approved. First, the bit of bad news...those are tiny little tick marks on Liberty's drapery at her shoulder. They look like toning spots at first, and they really have the same impact as toning spots, but full disclosure is always what we strive for. So, the coin isn't perfect. But, it is really, really close, and to me and my level of sensitivity, I think the coin is outstanding. It is totally original, beautifully preserved and toned in superb, antique golden gray, it retains bits of luster in the protected areas, its eye appeal is remarkably good and it is virtually impossible to find with those attributes. It is also one of my favorite Bust half dollar dates, and how could it not be one of yours? It's the closest you will ever come to an 1804 half dollar, and it is truly scarce and I believe, under-appreciated. It is my lead coin this month for very good reasons. Ex. Downey Mail Bid sale 46:3, Jan 2018, where it brought $4180.
