Do not let the holder fool you...or scare you away. This is a superb, totally original coin, without issues of any sort. And, this is the single (known) obverse die used for half dollars in 1805 that employed the naked-eye distinctive, Small 5. I would assume that was a punch intended for a quarter die. The reverse is a bit bluntly struck, as these are always seen, and thus appears to have more wear...though we know that simply isn't possible. Both sides of this coin circulated the exact same amount!
