1828 O.107 Curl 2, Knob Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS MS61 (CAC)

CAC approved, and with darn good reason. This is a stunningly original, gray-dirt masterpiece. Everything about this great coin screams for a higher grade...the luster, surface quality, originality and eye appeal, but a very few, very light, scattered marks limit the grade...in my mind to MS62! How they arrived at 61 is beyond my power to comprehend.  A true purist might insist on seeing a touch of rub.  Maybe.  Maybe not.  But in any case, no more than we typically seen on coins graded as high as 63 or even 64!
