1828 O.109 Square 2, Large 8 Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS AU53 (CAC)

Out of stock

CAC approved. Scarce large 8's variety.  The quality, eye appeal, originality, luster...everything about this coin defies my efforts to understand the grade of 53. This is a choice AU all day long, and is flat-out beautiful in any event. A superb PQ AU53 as I've ever seen, and can ever imagine!  Ex Sheridan Downey MBS #46, lot 69.  Sheridan, not one to over-hype coins by any means, described this coin as follows, "A gold CAC sticker would have been no surprise. The coin is truly “choice AU.” The impeccable surfaces are protected by a blanket of antique grey toning, infused with iridescent gold and turquoise. By all measures, the personification of a “sweet coin."."
