1828 O.119 Square 2, Small 8, Small Letters Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS AU53 (CAC)

CAC approved. A tough die variety that can be downright frustrating to find when you want one. Here you go! This is the only Small Letter reverse die (that we know of) used in combination with an 1828 obverse, thus creating a scarce and popular Redbook listing for the 28 Small Letters. The coin is lovely – lustrous, well-struck and lightly toned. I note a recent CAC sale of a PC53 at $1332. This one is a little cheaper.
