1834 O.101 Large Date, Large Letters Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS AU50, Incomplete Planchet and Double Edge Lettering

A very cool, rare coin that is a double mint error! Just to the left of the date is a minor but important, void in the planchet...as made. The edge is also completely doubled, with a wide offset, such that it is hard to decipher exactly how it reads. The holder gasket tabs get in the way too, but the edge is fully doubled and jumbled. A neat coin! This is Die State 101.1, per the BHNC's new die state handbook, "Die State Progressions of the Capped Bust Half Dollar Die Varieties 1807-1836", which is a very modest cost item, available right here on our website.
