1839 GR-8a EDS Capped Bust Half Dollar NGC MS61, From the Dick Graham Reference Collection

From the Dick Graham reference collection of Reeded Edge Bust half dollars by die variety, which we recently acquired. In this short, 4-year long series, 1839 may not be thought of as a "key" date. After all, the 1838-O is REALLY tough, and the 1836 and 1839-O are very challenging to find nice. So, that leaves only 3 more dates. How tough could the 1839 be in nice AU or Unc? Turns out, it's pretty darn tough. This is a nice coin...pretty, original, lightly toned and without distraction. The strike is bold and the luster is complete, and this is a real Unc. Enjoy!
