1859 Indian Cent NGC MS62 CAC, crusty original PQ+
CAC approved. A bit of a story, if you don't mind: For many years, I wasn't really sure I understood what a truly original CN cent should look like. Of course, gems were available at lot veiwings, but I wasn't confident that I'd ever seen a completely unmessed-with example. And, I had actively looked, not only for my own account, but for a very advanced, long-term type collector who was on the same quest. Perhaps 8 or 10 years ago, the question was answered, and in resounding fashion. At a show somewhere, I found a FE cent in a Green label PCGS AU58 with a Gold CAC sticker. The coin was perfect - slightly crusty, with magnificent straw-golden-tan color that was alive with luster- and it screamed, in a subtle way, complete originality. Thus, the connection was made. That is what they're supposed to look like. The long-term type collector still owns that coin. Fast forward to right now: This is exactly what this coin is supposed to look like. Plus, I grade it fully Choice. A stunning coin in every respect.
