1903 Indian Cent PCGS MS65 RB, OGH with Eagle Eye Photo Seal

Not sent to CAC due to timing, but I fully expect the coin to sticker. Eagle Eye Photo Seal, and with picture card. A lovely, original coin, and contained in one of the coolest PCGS holder types too...Generation 2.1, made only from Oct to Dec 1989. This is what I call a "Frame-Around" holder, and it is transitional from the Rattler shape to the fundamental holder shape of today. Rattlers don't stack. So, the temporary solution was to provide a stacking rim via a simple, relatively flimsy frame around the Rattler shape, and that's what we have here. The rare and famous Doily label was the first iteration of this concept, but it didn't last long either, a mere 2 months. This variant lasted a full 3 months! It worked in the sense that the holders were stackable, but the frames proved to be easily damaged or broken. This one is nearly perfect.
