This one presents a bit of a puzzle. The surface quality, luster, eye appeal and originality all point strongly to a gem coin. Only the strike leaves something to be desired, though we've seen many worse. The satiny, creamy aspect is breathtaking. CAC took a pass, which is puzzling to me. If the strike were even a tiny bit bolder, this coin would be graded 65+...and CAC. So, my thought is, it should easily have passed muster. In any event, the coin is stunning.
