CAC approved. I should think! This coin, in addition to being a very cool and very rare die state, is amazingly toned in gold – light to medium on the obverse, and deeper on the reverse – with lovely album color at the rims. Bill Bugert, on page 46 of his epic, A Register of Liberty Seated Half Dollar Die Varieties, Volume lll, New Orleans Branch Mint, 1840-O to 1853-O NA, notes that, “EDS without die cracks: extremely rare”. I cannot find evidence of any die cracks on this reverse. Absolutely full disclosure: there is an ancient, truly micro scratch from rim to (viewer’s) left wing that is almost in the correct spot for that die crack, and looks like it could be a crack just starting, but it is not.
