Here is a rare one for the sub-variety or die state folks. The coin is truly original, though not without its issues. There are some old, pretty unobtrusive surface marks, which our pics seem to have enhanced for your viewing pleasure. In hand, they are less bold. But, there are several very small rim nicks scattered about. Still, the coin is original, pretty darn pleasing and rare! This reverse die is known in three marriages...the rare O.101 was first, then came the pretty rare O.110, and finally the super common O.102. Early in the O.110 marriage, a serious, well off-kilter clash occurred, and the reverse die showed the commonly seen row of dentils (segments, in Overton) above the eagle from that point on. Very few O.110's are known without the clash, but here is one! This is Die State 110.1, per the BHNC's new die state handbook, "Die State Progressions of the Capped Bust Half Dollar Die Varieties 1807-1836", which is a very modest cost item, available right here on our website.
