While the coin isn't of the usual, magnificent quality we generally offer here, the rarity of this coin is unquestioned and the counterstamp, which is the really important part, is superb. It is fully and completely defined, including the apostrophe, which isn't always the case. And, the earlier date of the host is very important too. Houck's C/S are typically found on late 1820's thru 1836 half dollars, as well as some various other coins, but earlier dated hosts like this are very tough to find. This is Die State 110.2, per the BHNC's new die state handbook, "Die State Progressions of the Capped Bust Half Dollar Die Varieties 1807-1836", which is a very modest cost item, available right here on our website.
