1823 O.110a Ugly 3 Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS VF30 CAC
CAC approved, and with darn great reason. Melissa, who very recently completed the ANA's Basic Grading course offered at Summer Seminar, brought this to me during our picture/listing operation and said she graded this coin XF40. I explained to her why I did not quite agree, but for the record, I grade it 35...and it's an incredibly nice coin for that grade! I also noted that I've seen dozens of similar coins in XF holders, so I honestly can't say she's wrong! I can say this - you will love this coin as a VF30! Nice Ugly 3's are really hard to find, most are, well, ugly. Here is a fantastic coin and I think a great value too. This is Die State 110.7, per the BHNC's new die state handbook, "Die State Progressions of the Capped Bust Half Dollar Die Varieties 1807-1836", which is a very modest cost item, available right here on our website.
