CAC approved, and the only such example in VF20. A fabulous, original coin that I would grade 25, but the quality speaks for itself. The real hook here is the rare die state, which is noted by Tompkins as DS 3, showing the “arrows” die crack from rim through all arrowheads and towards the period. It does not extend to the rim, thus it does not form a retained cud. Rea, et al note this as die state b, stage 3, and assign R6 as the rarity, further calling it extremely rare, and listing only 3 examples.
