Another contribution from Dr. Link's incomparable collection of Capped Bust half dollars. This one is stunning, and a real AU58. It frustrates me to no end that we find coins with incomplete field luster in AU58 holders. That isn't allowed! An AU58 has just a tiny bit of friction or rub on the high points, and none in the fields. Thus, if the luster in the fields is disturbed - and what would disturb it but rub or friction - then a real AU58 must have full field luster, just as we have here. Beautifully toned and with a great pedigree too. Our pics are good...the true view in this case, not so much.
