1832 O.113 Small Letters Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS AU55 CAC
CAC approved. What comes through in our pics is the incredible, rich, antique gray-dirt patina and excellent surface quality. What doesn't is the full, hard luster that underlies the patina. This is an exceptionally attractive, totally pleasing coin...even considering the very late die state (which is a bit odd, since this is 113.1 per the BHNC Die State handbook, yet it is clearly a very late die state struck from very well-worn dies. Perhaps the criteria used here needs some revision). This is Die State 113.1, per the BHNC's new die state handbook, "Die State Progressions of the Capped Bust Half Dollar Die Varieties 1807-1836", which is a very modest cost item, available right here on our website.
