1833 O.110a Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS XF45 CAC, ex. Overton/Parsley Collection
Lane Brunner Collection. CAC approved. This one wound its way a bit...from the Overton/Parsley Collection via Sheridan Downey, Feb 2014 (I assume this wasn't actually owned by Al O, but was purchased by Don Parsley after Al's death, but was a part of The Collection...but I don't know that for sure), to the Hill Top collection that we sold, thence to Lane, who slabbed it and sent it to CAC in NJ. A softly lustrous, nicely toned coin, though with some old hairlines. Still, the CAC sticker adorns this pleasing coin, and it has a great history. This is Die State 110.2, per the BHNC's new die state handbook, "Die State Progressions of the Capped Bust Half Dollar Die Varieties 1807-1836", which is a very modest cost item, available right here on our website.
