LT Cmdr. Donald R. Frederick discovered the first example of this Supplement coin (in 1987, the BHNC published a small pamphlet covering the new discoveries since Overton's 1970 edition. Overton's next edition, the 3rd, did not come out till 1990), shortly after Overton's Second edition was published. Though it has proven to be the most common of the Supplement coins, it is FAR from common, especially when nice and in reasonably high grade...both of which are covered here! This example is very pleasing, has original, medium golden gray toning, shows a good bit of underlying luster and is essentially without faults. A great XF such as this would be an upgrade for the vast majority of collectors!
