It would be a challenge to find a more ideal type coin. Here we have full mint luster, a magnificent strike and exceptional, original color and surfaces. A few inconsequential, stray marks define the grade, but the eye appeal far exceeds most coins graded thus. Even with all of that, we still find evidence of serious degradation of the obverse die...clear evidence of the challenges still faced by the mint, 43 years after first striking coins for general circulation.
