1837 LM-3 R5 Capped Bust Half Dime H10C NGC AU Details, ex. Bergen 1979

Here is a rare coin, in a Condition Census-level grade. Yes, the coin has been cleaned. But is has naturally and beautifully retoned, there is virtually full luster and prooflike flash too. And MAYBE there is 5 points of wear...maybe not. These are very hard to grade due to the extremely blunt strike, but luster tells the tale. AU55 at worst. I don't offer many problem coins on this website, and when I do, it's an important coin...like this one. Auction lot insert from the Bergen sale (Quality Sales Corp, October 1979) is included.
