A very pleasing, original example of this much better date issue. The luster is bold, the color is natural and very attractive, and the surfaces are about as smooth as you'll find on circulated Southern gold. Doug Winter has noted that this issue is among the most difficult D mint $5's to find with decent surfaces and good eye appeal. Those boxes are checked!
