1859-O Liberty Seated Half Dime PCGS AU58
Some things make more sense than others. For example, this coin did not pass muster at CAC, something that leaves me not just wondering, but in utter amazement. You will agree - at least, I'll bet the farm you will agree - when you see this coin in hand. It is amazingly choice, drop-dead original and downright beautiful. Maybe the folks at CAC mistook the heavy obverse clash marks as post-minting damage. I'd sure hope not, but maybe. Perhaps they mistook the slightly blunt central obverse detail, thanks to that heavily clashed die, as circulation wear. I'd sure hope not, but perhaps. Possibly, they did not linger long enough to appreciate the full, deep, rich cartwheel luster. Sorry, but I think the coin is a candidate for a Gold sticker, not simply a slam-dunk Green. Good thing we are coin collectors, rather than collectors of holders and stickers.
