1873 DDO Open 3 Shield Nickel PCGS MS63 Rattler CAC, FS-1103

CAC approved. This incredible coin has it all. First, it's a rare die variety...an FS-1103 Doubled Die Obverse. Second, that die variety is literally spectacular.  You don't need a glass to the doubling, it is naked eye and the spread is huge. Even your non-collecting friends will appreciate this thing! Next, and perhaps most importantly, this coin is absolutely stunning. This really should have gotten a Gold CAC sticker. I grade the coin 64+.  The luster is rich and deep, the rose gold toning has just a hint of blue and is beautiful, and the strike is full. PCGS has graded only 3 of this variety, one each at VF35, AU53 and MS65. The only actual sale I can find is of the 65 (non-CAC) coin, sold in June 2018 for $4080. Compare these two coins...the one I'm offering here is at least as nice, and it is CAC approved.
