1890-S Morgan Dollar Gen 2.1 PCGS MS64 CAC

CAC approved. Here is a complete package...one of my favorite holder types and a monster coin inside! This is a Gen 2.1 holder, what I call a Frame-Around. It is a transitional type, and took the rattler shape and placed a supplemental plastic frame around it so that the slabs could be stacked. Rattlers can't be. The entire Frame-Around phase lasted from Sept 1989 thru Jan 1990, and consists of three variants: Gen 2.0 (the Doily), Gen 2.1 (this holder) and Gen 2.2 (with an improved label...die cut instead of perforated). The frames were rather flimsy and easily damaged, but this one has held up well. And, there is a coin in the holder! It is fabulous...bright white, super fresh, very clean and as appealing as a 64 is gonna be.
