Set of 4 Different Printings of Library of Coins Volume 21-A, Kennedy Head Half Dollars (1964-)
Set of 4 Different Printings of Library of Coins Volume 21-A, Kennedy Head Half Dollars (1964-). A very interesting set of these collectible albums, showing a very typical progression in design and issuance. The earliest one in this group was clearly produced in late 1963, before the actual coinage design was known, as the cover art is completely generic and the first page lists 1965-D, 1966-D and 1967-D issues. The next printing has accurate cover art, but continues the D mint coinages that didn't happen. The next two are later yet, clearly seen as the cover art is photographic, yet they were still issued at very different times, one of them showing correct dating through 1968-D, and the next through 1969-S. The Library of Coins series presents many fascinating opportunities for collectors to "geek-out" over such details. Condition of this group ranges from modestly used to very gently used...in coin terms, perhaps VF to AU. There are no significant markings, but you will find wear and tear associated with normal use. Spine printing is clear and bold on all.
